Fostex FD8 and solid state disks

2013 03 14 - fostex fd8 digital multitracker
2013 03 14 - typecast

Below there are some videos of the problem, I hope that someone can suggest me something to make the Fostex FD8 work with solid state disks (CF, SD or whatever).
This multitracker has also a SCSI-2 port so maybe I try to use an Acard IDE-SCSI bridge plus a IDE-CF adapter, but this is not cheap, those cards are pretty expensive: many times the ones shown here.

  2. I'd love to know if you got any further? For what it's worth, I have had success doing the same thing with a somewhat similar machine from the same era - the Tascam 788. This machine originally came with a Quantum Fireball 7.5 GB drive. I have successfully transplanted a 32GB SD flash card to it, using an IDE-SD adapter. The trick was to put the SD card in a PC first, and format it with exFAT format. I am not saying this would work with the Fostex, but its worth trying that and other file format schemes (FAT16 and FAT32 would be the 2 obvious ones to try).

Here is a link to the inspiration that figured this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1X0w4FmykQ
